UG-SAFE

The UG-SAFE fire announcement system is a specialized fire protection solution for mining belt conveyors. It enhances fire safety and protects lives and property in mining operations.

Key features of the UG-SAFE system:

  1. Fire Detection: Utilizes advanced sensors and algorithms to accurately identify fire or smoke along mining belt conveyors.
  2. Alarm Notification: Triggers audible and visual alarms promptly upon detecting a fire, alerting personnel nearby for immediate action and evacuation.
  3. Communication System: Equipped with a robust infrastructure to transmit fire alarms and notifications to control centers, command stations, or designated personnel, enabling swift emergency response coordination.
  4. Integration: Seamlessly integrates with other fire protection and monitoring systems in mining operations, allowing centralized control, monitoring, and coordination.
  5. Monitoring and Control: Provides real-time monitoring and control capabilities, enabling operators to promptly respond to detected incidents. Remote access and control features may be available.
  6. Compliance: Engineered to meet specific fire safety standards for mining operations, ensuring the highest level of safety and protection.

By integrating advanced fire detection technology and effective communication capabilities, the UG-SAFE system aims to enhance the safety of mining belt conveyors and prevent fire incidents from escalating. Its implementation as a supplementary system to ELSAP-SAFE further strengthens the overall fire protection measures in place

ELSAP-SAFE

The ELSAP-SAFE intrinsically safe fire protection system developed by Kazcentrmontazh plays a key role in fire protection of belt conveyors for the mining industry.

This innovative system focuses on robust fire detection and prevention. By vigilantly monitoring critical operational parameters of the conveyor system, the ELSAP-SAFE system aims to ensure the security and safety of mining operations.

If a fire is detected inside the conveyor system, the ELSAP-SAFE intrinsically safe fire protection system is immediately activated. It employs a variety of suppression mechanisms to swiftly contain the fire’s spread and minimize its impact, tailored to the unique requirements of the conveyor system and the materials being transported.

The ELSAP-SAFE system stands as a comprehensive fire protection solution, custom-designed for belt conveyors used in mining operations. With its sophisticated fire detection technologies and personalized design approach, it is a dependable choice for enhancing the safety and security of mining belt conveyor systems.

APPLICATION

The SAFE type system for automatic fire extinguishing of conveyor belt fires allows for instantaneous self-extinguishing of an existing fire, as well as automatic generation of alarms and warns the operator of the danger. It can be used in underground mines in areas with explosion hazard, with “a” or “b” methane explosion hazard, as well as category A and B coal dust explosion hazard.

System Description.

The system for automatic fire extinguishing on SAFE type belt conveyors consists of the following units:

  1. intrinsically safe controller,
  2. shut-off valve with pressure sensor,
  3. a starting unit with temperature sensors and a passage valve,
  4. fire extinguishing unit,
  5. loudspeaker alarms

The principle of the system.

As a result of increasing temperature (above the set temperature) of the conveyor elements as well as the environment, the temperature sensors are triggered, i.e. the low-melting alloy connecting the nut to the plate starts to melt at a temperature of 75°С.

This action automatically starts the water sprinklers.

A drop in water pressure in the pipelines is detected by a pressure sensor, which transmits information about the fire extinguishing system activation to the ELSAP SAFE intrinsically safe system controller.

The controller causes an instantaneous stop of the conveyor drives and transmits an alarm signal to the UG SAFE signaling devices located along the conveyor route, and automatically informs the dispatcher about the emergency situation.
